Born on February 10, 1935, in Augusta, Georgia, Amanda's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering commitment to her beliefs and family.
From her earliest days, Amanda demonstrated an unshakeable spirit, one that would lead her to become a strong prayer warrior, deeply rooted in her love for the Lord, her church, and her family. A dedicated member of ADEC for an impressive 43 years, she faithfully served on the mother board, choir, prayer line, and hospitality, embodying the essence of community service and spiritual leadership. Her laughter and warm heart will echo through the halls of her beloved church, where she touched many lives with her kindness and devotion.
Amanda's family legacy is marked by both grief and gratitude. She was preceded in death by her parents, Saunders P. Hogues and Emma Mae Hogues, as well as her siblings: Ernestine Hogues, Cleveland N. Hogues, and Saunders Hogues, Jr. Their memories remain woven within the fabric of her life, guiding her as she sought solace in her faith and her beloved church community.
She is survived by a close-knit family who will carry forth her spirit of generosity and love. Her nephew, Tony Hogues, and his wife, Annette, as well as her niece, Saundra Kelly, stand as shining examples of the lessons Amanda imparted throughout her life. Building upon her legacy, her great-nephews Gregory and Gerald Hogues, her great-nieces Emily, Katrina, and Breana Hogues bring a renewed sense of family love, evoking cherished memories of Amanda’s warmth. Her cousin, Evelyn Eubanks, along with her dedicated caregiver, Mattie, and numerous other relatives and friends will remember Amanda with affection and honor her impactful journey.
A visitation to celebrate Amanda's profound life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 2 PM to 6 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home situated at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta. The following day, family, friends, and the community will gather for a heartfelt funeral service at Augusta Deliverance at 11 AM, located at 2028 Roosevelt Drive. Commencing at 12:15 PM, Amanda will find her final resting place at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 120 Watkins Street, where her love, faith, and legacy will remain ever-present.
