Betty Jean Prescott - Paschal was born Aug. 17th, 1963 to Uster & Essie M. Prescott in Augusta, GA. She was the last of eight children. Proceeded in death by both parents and siblings: Charles W. Burley. Annie M. Walker, Adolphus S. Willingham & Wilhelmina Prescott.
Betty Jean as known by most was a very tomboyish girl from a young age yet evolving into a beautiful black butterfly. She loved playing basketball, baseball, swimming, track, horseshoes, and anything else she could to show boys. She could do better than them. She attended Collins, S.D. Copeland, Tubman Jr. High, Lucy C. Laney% of 81) and Augusta Tech with a Marketing and Management Diploma.
In 1986, she married her best friend, Willie L. Paschal Jr. after 5 years of courtship. Of this union two sons were born; Jaremy D. Paschal & Justin D. Paschal. Their foursome would be expanded with the welcomed edition of grandson Josiah D. Paschal. Exactly one year to the day of the burial of her mother Ms. Essie. We were so excited to become his grandparents and enjoyed every opportunity with him.
In 1997, Betty became employed with Physicians Practice Group (PPG) where she began entry level work, diligently in several positions, ultimately becoming a Medical Auditor as a Compliance Specialist in the Compliance, Audit & Education Dept.
In 1999, Betty heeded the call giving her life to Christ and United with the TrueVine Missionary Baptist Church. She worked sacrificially for her church and always did whatever she could to help as a Children church and Vacation Bible School teacher, Former VP of the Sisterhood ministry, Van ministry (Lead driver), Former Assistant Financial Secretary and Assistant Chairman of the Trustee Ministry.
She truly wanted to do whatever she could with the talents God gave her to help and not for a title! This was more evident in the care of her grandmother, aunt, mother and husband during their illnesses. However, she extended herself even more to other seniors and kids who needed her assistance. Seniors and children held a very special place in her heart. She also loved being a very active part of the LaFavors) Family Reunion. She truly loved her family. Many sacrifices more than they know through her foregoing ambitions.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory: Husband of 40 years: Willie L. Paschal Jr., her two sons: Jaremy (Keisha) Paschal and Justin (Whitney) Paschal, her grandchildren: Jayla, Josiah, Jamiya, Jeremiah and Khalani, her siblings: Arthur L. Prescott, Queen Settles and Barbara Ann Bohannon, in-laws: Janice Moody, Joey L. Paschal & Scottie L. Paschal and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins & friends.
