~ EVELYN STRINGER OBITUARY ~ Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Stringer will be conducted Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 1 PM at Keys Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Rickey Dent officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 2 - 6 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home. GUESTBOOK ENTRIES: Dear Herbert Stringer, Jr, I was saddened to read of your mother's passing (believe it was your mother) in our paper recently. I also read there is a Herbert Stringer III so assume it is your son. If you are the wonderful Herbert Stringer I taught at Josey years ago please know that I think your mother raised a lovely young man and that she did well. I also remember when I was JV cheerleading coach there one time my husband drove the school van and my girls cheered at the basketball pro team in Atlanta and we took along a few of my students and you were one of them.  We saw Dominique Wilkins play. I do hope you are doing well and we are, too. We stay in and always wear a mask out. My 2 children are grown: Toni (42) is married, has 2 children, and is an asst. princ. in Columbia Co. school system. Following in my footsteps I guess. Our son, Sharn, is 48 working at uptown AU. He got divorced in Atlanta, no children, and moved back here. My husband, Dr V, is retired from MCG, 80 yrs old and well. I am 78 now and use a lot of Italian olive oil which keeps us all healthy.
