~ HOSEA FREEMAN OBITUARY ~ EVANS, Ga. - Hosea Freeman, Jr., 41, entered into rest on Monday, October 21, 2013 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 11 AM at Gilbert-Lambuth Chapel (Paine College) with Elder Marcella F. Glover officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens, 3444 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA. He was born in Augusta, GA and was preceded in death by his father and mother, Hosea Freeman, Sr. and Annie Lee Freeman. He is survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a 1991 graduate of Glenn Hills High School; he received an Associate s Degree in General Science from Georgia Military College and a BS Degree in Criminal Justice from Tennessee State University. He worked as a Correctional Officer at Hancock Correctional Institution, Sparta, GA; RCCI, Augusta, GA; and for the last 15 years at the Federal Correctional Institution, Edgefield, SC. He was an avid movie, video and music fan and was intrigued with the intricate details of electronic equipment and technology. A special thanks to Warden Atkinson of the Federal Correctional Institution, along with his officers and support staff, for their daily visits and/or calls to the hospital during Hosea s illness and to the family, as well. The family has been deeply touched by the kindness shown and your willingness to help in any way you could. Hosea was extremely lucky to have worked with such a caring group of people, whom he considered family.
