Born on May 3, 1933, his passion for music knew no bounds, earning him titles such as "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business", "Soul Brother #1", and "Mr. Dynamite". However, above all else, he cherished the roles of Daddy and Grandaddy with immense pride and love.

On December 25, 2006, James Brown passed away in Augusta, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of experiencing his incredible talent both on and off the stage.

James is survived by his loving family: Venisha Brown, Deanna Brown (Shawn) Thomas, Dr. Yamma Brown, Terry Brown (Dahlia), Larry Brown, Daryl Brown (Stacy), and James Brown II. His children were not just his family but a testament to the love and joy he shared with the world.

A series of funeral services will be held to honor James Brown's life. The first service will take place on Thursday, December 28 at Apollo Theater in New York. Subsequent services will be held at Carpentersville Baptist Church in North Augusta on Friday, December 29 and at James Brown Arena in Augusta on Saturday, December 30.

As we bid farewell to this extraordinary soul who graced us with his music and passion, let us remember James Brown not only for his remarkable career but also for the love he shared with those closest to him.
