It is with heavy hearts that we commemorate the life of District Elder Christopher McBride, Sr., whose journey on this Earth concluded on April 29, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia. Born in the serene embrace of Burke County, Georgia, on October 23, 1970, Christopher was a beloved son, devoted husband, and a pillar of strength for his family and community.

Christopher's professional pursuits were reflective of his unwavering commitment to service and leadership. He initially graced the fast-food establishments of Steak and Shake and McDonald's in Lake Land, Florida, where he managed operations with diligence and care. His career later took a transformative turn as he embraced his calling to lead as Pastor of the New and Living Way Apostolic Church. Furthermore, he contributed his talents as a manager at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, serving the community with dignity for numerous years. His dedication to his professions mirrored his life philosophy: God was always first in anything he did.

An ardent supporter of education, Christopher proudly celebrated his time as a student of the Burke County Education System. He carried forth a deep love for learning, which he passed on to his children and those around him. Known for his generosity and compassion towards all he encountered, Christopher's personality radiated warmth, inspiring others to strive for kindness and empathy. The legacy he leaves behind is one of immense faith, kindness, and dedication, destined to live eternally in the hearts of many.

Christopher is survived by his loving wife, Susan McBride, and their cherished children: Tashona Hamilton, Regina Young, Stacey (Julian) June, Katrina (Jim III) Davis, and Christopher (Jasmine) McBride, Jr. His legacy continues with the joy of his grandchildren: Deja, Neshia, Niyah, Jalen, Jakyriah, Sylvester III, Sylvester IV, Jewell, Cyan, Rodney, Makayla, Oaklynn, Corbin, Alaysia, and Brianna. He also leaves behind his beloved godchild, Jayden. The familial love doesn’t stop there, as he is mourned by his devoted mother, Florence McBride, and siblings Cynthia Brown, Robert Evans, Sharon Luke, Johnny Evans, Anglia Young, Tyrone Cooper, Lakisha Cooper, Nicholas Jackson, Tonya Jackson, Jackie Foote, and Wanda Smith, as well as his sibling, Marie Wright.

Christopher has been preceded in death by his grandmother, Susie May McBride, and his nephew, Adrian Jae-Sun Davis.

As we celebrate the life of Christopher Denvornar McBride, Sr., we gather to honor his immense contributions to his family, community, and faith. He will be dearly missed, and his spirit will forever be intertwined with the lives he touched. His visitation will be held at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at New Zion Apostolic Church on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with interment to follow at Walker Memorial Park.
