David A. Crawford, Sr. was born on July 10, 1970, in Aiken, South Carolina, and passed away on August 2, 2025, in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a dedicated and proud veteran of the U.S Navy, a testament to his commitment to serving his country. Following his military service, David embarked on a successful career with AGY, where his work was characterized by diligence and integrity.
Education was an important foundation for David, as he graduated from Silver Bluff High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and became an active member of St. Mary Baptist Church in Martin, South Carolina, where his faith guided many aspects of his life.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Temeka Crawford, along with his children: Shaquavia Crawford, David Crawford, Jr., DeShawn Crawford, and Markiem Brantley. His legacy continues with several cherished grandchildren: Jurnee Myers, Paighten Myers, Ziyana Corbitt, Landon Crawford, Logan Crawford, Kaizeer Crawford, Malaya Brantley, Kasiem Brantley, and Khloe Brantley.
He is also survived by his mother, Janet D. DeCastro; siblings Carolyn (Terrence) Washington and Danny (Annette) Crawford; and in-laws, including Doretha (Adolph) Shaw (mother-in-law), James Curry (father-in-law), and sisters-in-law Alice Curry, Karena Curry, and Jasmine Curry. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of relatives, including aunt Vivian DeWindt and uncles Earl (Justine) DeWindt and Roy DeWindt, alongside many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
David was predeceased by his father, Willie Crawford, Jr., and his brother, Jerome Stokes, in addition to uncles Franklin Dewindt and Lloyd Williams.
Visitation for David A. Crawford, Sr. will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, Georgia. The funeral service will take place the following day, Friday, August 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, situated at 2657 Silver Bluff Rd, Aiken, South Carolina, with interment following the service at 2:30 PM at the same location.
David A. Crawford, Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his memory will forever live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.
