Diamond Striggles, Jr., born on August 7, 1948, in Macon, Georgia, peacefully passed away on January 3, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia. His life was a testament to dedication, service, and unwavering commitment both to his family and to his country.
Diamond proudly served as a rifleman in the U.S. Marines, embodying the values of honor and bravery. Following his military service, he transitioned into a career as an auto mechanic, where he honed his skills and gained the respect of many within the community. Later in life, he pursued a career in nursing, reflecting his deep-seated desire to care for others and improve their lives.
A proud alumnus of Lucy C. Laney High School, graduating in the class of 1966, Diamond furthered his education by attending Augusta Technical College after his time in the Marines. This blend of education and practical experience fortified his diverse skill set, allowing him to make significant contributions in various fields.
Diamond is remembered fondly for his devotion to family, which remained a central pillar throughout his life. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Cora Blades, and son, Morgan Striggles, along with two cherished grandchildren, four siblings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
His legacy is embodied in the values he instilled in his loved ones. The memories of his kindness, strength, and steadfast dedication will remain with them, honoring his lasting impact in their lives.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Diamond’s life on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia. The service will conclude at 12:00 PM, providing an opportunity for everyone to come together in remembrance of a remarkable man who served his country and family with great honor.
