Eddie Jones Sr. a.k.a Dooley, aged 63, passed away on March 5, 2026, at Wellstar Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Born on October 27, 1962, in Augusta, GA. Eddie built a life that reflected the true meaning of family. Most notably for being the DJ and the life of the party.
Eddie’s journey through life enriched many; rather, he provided a helping hand, a good laugh, or good advice. He was well respected and known for his generosity.
He was well known as Dooley. He dedicated his life to his family.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Maggie Avery; his father, Joe Ben Jones; his spouse, Precious Small; his brothers, Sam Ross, Leon Powell, and William Lambert; and his sisters, Mary Davis, Joanne Powell, Christine Daggett, and Betty Lambert, all of Augusta, Georgia.
Left to cherish his loving memories: one daughter, Darrumette Small; four sons, Ellis Small, Eddie Jones Jr., Preston Jones, Eddy Jones; two grandchildren, Ariyah Lawton, Freddie Irizarry-Small all of Augusta, Ga. four brothers Jimmy (Donna) Powell, Dan (Tracy) Lambert, Paul (Olandia) Lambert, and George (Ethel) Ross, all of Augusta Ga; six sisters, Margaret Powell, Emma Powell, Evelyn Jones, Regina Ellis, Patricia (Freddy) Boynton, and Fannie Lambert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, additional family members, and friends.
A viewing will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314 Laney Walker Blvd., Augusta, GA 30901. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather to pay their respects.
Eddie Lee Jones Sr. will be remembered for his spirit of generosity, his love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind. While his presence will be deeply missed, his impact will continue to resonate in the lives he touched.
