With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward English, Sr., a man whose life was a symphony of love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. Born on August 3, 1976, in Brevard, Florida, Edward's journey came to a close on April 3, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit and legacy continue to resonate deeply within the hearts of family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Edward was a radiant soul who found joy in the simple yet profound pleasures of life. He was a devoted family man, endlessly loving and fiercely protective, embodying the roles of husband, father, and grandfather with boundless affection. At the core of his being was a profound love for music, which often underscored family gatherings and moments of togetherness with rhythms that lifted spirits and wove an invisible thread binding generations. His culinary talents were another expression of his caring nature; through cooking, he nourished both body and soul, turning every meal into a celebration of warmth and community.
Sports occupied a cherished place in Edward's heart. While he favored the Atlanta Falcons, it was the Atlanta Braves who truly held his unwavering devotion. The thrill of the game, the camaraderie of fans, and the timeless joys of cheering for his teams were facets of his life that brought him immense happiness and a sense of belonging.
Known affectionately as "Mr. Taxi Driver," Edward was a man who always put others first, tirelessly giving of himself without regard for recognition or reward. His selflessness was a hallmark trait—he would go the extra mile for anyone in need, embodying a spirit of service that extended beyond family to friends and community alike.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Daisy Smith English, who was his steadfast partner and confidante. Together, they shared a life enriched by their children: Felana Smith, Eboni English, Edward English, Jr., and E-Mani English. His six grandchildren were the light of his later years, bringing joy and pride to his heart in immeasurable ways. Also mourning his loss are his brothers, Tony English, Anthony English, and Russell English, who stood by him through the many chapters of life’s journey.
Though Edward English, Sr. has left us, his legacy of love, generosity, passion, and unwavering kindness endures. His family carries forward his spirit, cherishing the memories of a man who gave so much without hesitation. Through them and all who knew him, Edward’s life story continues to inspire and touch the lives of many. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered as a beacon of love and giving—a true pillar of strength and heart.
