Felton Derrick Neely, Jr.

Felton Derrick Neely, Jr., son of the late Felton Derrick Neely, Sr., and Gayle Gilbert Neely, was born March 15, 1983, he transitioned from this earthly life into his Heavenly life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in Augusta, Georgia.

Felton “Derrick” began his education at Tabernacle Baptist Church Daycare and continued at Immaculate Conception Catholic School, George P. Butler High and Cross Creek High School where he graduated in 2001.

At an early age he attended Thankful Baptist Church and was baptized at Servants of God Baptist Church, he later reunited with Thankful Baptist Church. From 2001 to 2011, Derrick served his country with honor and pride in the United States Air Force Veteran.

After retiring from the U. S. Air Force, Derrick devoted some of his time to mentoring and supporting young people, including giving scholarships to students in the community upon their high school graduation. Derrick was also a proud and active member of the Bannaker Lodge #3.

He was preceded in death by his father, Felton Derrick Neely, Sr.

Derrick is survived by his loving mother, Gayle G. Neely; devoted brother, Fredrick Derron Neely; devoted sister, Monique Gilbert; bonus brother, Vernon Neely, Sr.; four devoted cousins, Brenda Neely, Reginald Neely, Jr., Dena Neely and Andranne Bogan; five aunts, Lourdes Neely Coleman, Marilyn Neely, Agnes Brown, Peggy Gilbert, Kathy Gilbert and Elizabeth Gilbert two uncles, Natovian (Stephanie) Ward, and Tommy Lee Gilbert, Jr., Godparents, Francine Scott and Ricardo (Lauretha) Daggett, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
