Grady B. Pollard was born on November 6, 1962, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Bertha Pollard and the late Theresa McCladdie Pollard.

Grady graduated from Evans High School in 1982. That same year, he joined the United States Army, where he served his country with honor until receiving an honorable medical discharge in 1985. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Theresa McCladdie Pollard, and his father, Bertha Pollard.

Grady was a cherished son, uncle, brother, father, grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory four devoted siblings: Melissa Pollard of Gainesville, Georgia; LaShanda Pollard of Norcross, Georgia; Michelle Grayden of Appling, Georgia; Ivy Elam (Gerald) of Appling, Georgia; and the memory of his late brother, Clarence Rolland.

He is also survived by his son, Orlando Pollard; his grandson, Derek Cruz; his granddaughter, Courtland Pollard; and his great-great-granddaughter, Armani Cruz.

Grady shared a special and heartfelt bond with Yolanda Maldonado, who held a special place in his heart. He was also deeply loved by Cedric Skillern, Preston Maldonado, Tameka Skillern, and the late Devona Maldonado, all of whom regarded him as a father figure. He also shared a special bond with Brittney Washington, who was a meaningful part of his life and someone he truly cared for deeply. The love, guidance, and memories they shared with him will forever be cherished.

Grady’s life was marked by kindness, loyalty, and a gentle strength that touched everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed by his presence.
