Hassan A. Shaheed

Hassan A. Shaheed, a dedicated retired teacher from the Essex County Public School System, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Hephzibah, Georgia. He was born on September 5, 1953, in Passaic, New Jersey.

Hassan devoted his professional life to education after graduating from Passaic High School and furthering his studies to earn a Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. His passion for teaching left a lasting impact on the lives of many students throughout his career.

He is survived by his loving wife, Willamae Shaheed, his son, Omar Nadir Shaheed, and his goddaughter Sharon Israel. John will be dearly missed by his family, friends, former colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and knowledge.

In honor of his memory and contributions to the field of education, a Celebration of Life service will be held in Newark. New Jersey to celebrate the life of Hassan A. Shaheed. May he rest in peace.
