Hea’Vaughn-Lei Gene Jerome Brooks-Hampton, born July 26, 2001, was a bright spirit whose presence left a lasting mark on everyone blessed enough to know him. From an early age, his kindness, humor, and gentle heart shined through in every space he walked into.
Hea’Vaughn began his education at Open Door Preschool, later attending Monte Sano Elementary and Langford Middle School, where he built lifelong friendships and created memories that still make his loved ones smile. During his time at Langford, he became known for his dedication and athletic talent, playing football and helping lead his team to back-to-back championships. He also showcased his versatility on the baseball field, proudly representing his school. He went on to attend Academy of Richmond County High School, continuing to grow into the strong, loving young man his family cherished.
In his teen years, Hea’Vaughn worked at McDonald’s and Burger King, always showing a strong work ethic and a willingness to provide for himself and those he cared about. No matter where he was, his presence was warm, his laugh unforgettable, and his love deeply felt.
On November 21, 2025, at just 24 years old, Hea’Vaughn’s life was tragically cut short at 2 a.m., leaving a space in the world that can never be filled. Yet the impact he made, the joy he gave, the love he shared, and the memories he created—will forever live on. Two dear Godfathers James Bailey of Macon, Georgia and Cobie Logan of Augusta Georgia; A dear Godmother Anika Logan of Atlanta, Georgia and a large circle of family and friends who will carry his spirit with them always.
Heavaughn’s life, though brief, was full of meaning, strength, laughter, and love. His family will forever honor him, remember him, and hold him close in their hearts
