It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Gibbons, Jr. on September 19, 2023, in Augusta, Georgia. James was born on January 6, 1952, in Louisville, Georgia.

James was a beloved member of his community and touched the lives of all who knew him. He was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. James had a passion for helping others and was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.

A visitation in honor of James will take place on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, Georgia. The visitation will begin at 2:00 PM and conclude at 6:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to join together to remember James and share stories of his life.

A funeral service will be held the following day, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, also at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta. The service will commence at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 PM. This solemn occasion will provide an opportunity for loved ones to gather and pay their final respects to James.

Following the funeral service, a burial ceremony will be held at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Louisville, Georgia. The burial ceremony will commence at 12:45 PM and conclude at 1:00 PM. It is here that James will be laid to rest among his family and friends.

James Gibbons, Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.
