Jerome Burley

Jerome Burley, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2025, in his hometown of Augusta, Georgia. Born on July 15, 1999, Jerome filled the world with his light and laughter from a young age, establishing himself as a kind-hearted soul and a dedicated worker throughout his brief but impactful life. He spent countless hours in construction, a role where his work ethic and determination shone brightly.

Jerome is remembered fondly by his family, including his father David Burley, and his siblings: Sherian Smith, Rondal Smith, Victoria Smith, Kiva (Ricky) Hilton-Green, Latoya Hilton, David Wigham, and Timothy Burley. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he cherished. His mother, Sherian Smith, grandmother, Ruby L. Stapleton, and brother, William Smith, who passed before him, will now welcome him with open arms in eternal rest.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jerome’s life during the visitation on Monday, June 16, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home in Augusta, GA. The funeral service will be held the same day at 2:30 PM, followed by his interment at Walker Memorial Park at 3:45 PM. Each of these gatherings will be a testament to the impact Jerome had on all who knew him—an opportunity for remembrance and reflection of a life so beautifully lived.

Though his time with us was far too short, Jerome leaves behind cherished memories that will be held dear by his loved ones. His warmth, tenderness, and vivacity are qualities that will echo in the lives of all who were fortunate to have known him. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the love and stories he imparted, which will continue to inspire and uplift us in the days to come.
