Juanita Mack, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Augusta, Georgia, at the age of 86. Born on December 21, 1938, in Washington, D.C., Juanita was a proud 1958 graduate of Lucy Craft Laney High School, where she also shone as a Wildcat Majorette in the band, a testament to her vibrant spirit and dedication.
A devoted matriarch, Juanita leaves behind a deep legacy through her children: Bonita Wright, Lisa Jackson Carroll, Clarence Mack, Jr., Dana Mack, Jennifer Mack, Brian Mack, plus Courtney Mack, and Alexis Mack, who she adopted with open arms. Her love extended further to embrace her bonus sons, Derrick Collins and Emmanuel Ivey, and her laughter echoed through her vast legacy of 27 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her warm spirit and unwavering support, a love that will endure through generations.
Juanita's life was enriched by the close bond she shared with her devoted friend, Josie Friday, whose presence offered irreplaceable companionship and joy.
She is dearly missed by those who had the honor of knowing her, while she reunites with her beloved family members who have preceded her. Her father, David Green, and mother, Beatrice Green, along with her husband, Clarence Mack, Sr., her grandmother, Ada Green, and her siblings—Roberta Sullivan, Helen Hall, Bobby Crawford, Willie Jones—embrace her now in eternal rest.
Juanita's vibrant legacy of love and kindness remains in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her light. As we remember her, let us celebrate the joyous moments and the profound impact she made on our lives.
