Kathryn Claven, born October 26, 1955, in Augusta, Georgia, passed away on October 11, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia. Her life was rooted in the city where she was born, and her memory will remain cherished by those who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind a family who will carry her spirit forward with enduring love. Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Charise Claven, and her sons, James Claven and Sidney Claven. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sadie Bryant, Sylvia Jenkins, Brenda Higgs, Cynthia Cratic, and Sandra Williams Searless, as well as Booker Dunbar.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Lee Washington, Breyonnah Claven, Trinity Frankliin-Ellis, Mahogany Washington, and Cheryl Washington, and through her great-grandchildren, Lee Washington, Leyah Washington, and Amir Clark. In each generation, her presence lives on, reflected in the bonds of family and in the love she helped to nurture.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Kathryn at a memorial service on October 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA 30901.
