Kirk Victor Holmes, a cherished son, father, and devoted friend, ascended to eternal rest on July 5, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Augusta, Georgia. Born on April 15, 1960, Kirk lived a life enriched by love, laughter, and a strong commitment to family and friends.

From an early age, Kirk demonstrated a zest for life that was infectious. He attended George P. Butler High School, where not only did he excel academically, but also made his mark as a spirited football player. This spirit carried him throughout his life, as he became a lifelong supporter of the Atlanta Falcons, embodying unwavering loyalty and joy in the shared experience of sports with those around him.

In his quest for knowledge and creativity, Kirk pursued a culinary arts associate degree, fueling his passion for the culinary world. His knack for preparing delicious meals brought joy and warmth to gatherings, turning many family dinners into cherished memories filled with laughter and connection.

Kirk leaves behind a beautiful legacy, woven with the threads of love and tenderness that he shared with his daughters: Bertanna Harris, Ife Harris, and Latoya Gates. Each of them carries a part of him in their hearts and lives—his love for family and profound appreciation for bonds shining brightly through them. He will be remembered by his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends not only for his contagious charisma but also for the genuine care he had for each person he encountered.

Kirk was preceded in death by his loving parents, Vertis Allen and Johnnie Hixson, whose spirits he carried with him throughout his life. Their teachings and values shaped him into the incredible man he became—a man who valued connections and the simple joys of life.
