Lola M. Waltower was born on October 9, 1943 in Waynesboro Georgia, raised in the Nellieville Section of Augusta, Georgia. She was the middle child to the late Willie Mae Williams and John Williams. Lola was called to the Heavenly Father onTuesday, February 3rd, 2026 in Atlanta Georgia.
Lola graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in Augusta, Georgia. She then married her childhood sweetheart, Sidney Waltower "Jr." and moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey. Lola and Sidney began their married life and pursued their dreams of having a family, bearing their one and only child, Sidney "Skeet" Waltower III. Lola was full of life and shared that fullness with everyone she met. Lola was devoted to her family, her kind heart and humor was a blessing to everyone around her. Lola worked as an accountant at Resorts International Casino and Gambling alongside pursuing her Associates in Arts at Atlantic Community College in May's landing, New Jersey. In 1989, Lola and her family bought a house in her hometown of August, Georgia. Lola was the first of her family to move down to Augusta, while her husband continued work at Tropicana casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey before retiring then following her to Augusta. Her heart was genuine and full of love. She was a devoted grandmother and loved enjoying life with her grandchildren. Along with her family, Lola cared deeply for her pets and plants surrounding her home. She worked as a receptionist at a local family care physician. Lola then spent her time caring for her husband after he became ill. Lola lived the rest of her life here full of joy. She understood the gift of life, and lived it well, sharing it with others and spending it with family.
Lola was a firm believer in Christ and after having been baptized in 1979, she served in the church as an ordained minister, preaching the word of God, being the person and living the life in which he entrusted her. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie Mae and John Williams; husband, Sidney Waltower "Jr."; brothers; David "Bruh" Williams, Willie "Pop" Williams. Lola's life will always be remembered by her child; Sidney "Skeet" Waltower III, daughter in law; Gwen Waltower, beloved niece; Tracy Williams, nephew; Reggie Williams, three grandchildren; Dorian Waltower, Cydnee Waltower, Daniel Waltower, beloved family and friends; Cousin Lilly, Dana Brown, Ruth Cain
