Marvin Eugene Brinson, a devoted family man and respected professional, passed away on June 7, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia, the city where he was born on January 18, 1951. His life was marked by dedication both to his career and to his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and care.
Marvin was a valued member of the medical community, having retired from the Medical College of Georgia. Throughout his career, he contributed significantly to the institution and to the lives of countless individuals, earning admiration and respect from colleagues and patients alike.
Born and raised in Augusta, Marvin’s ties to his hometown remained strong throughout his life. He was a pillar of strength and kindness to his family, whose support and love were central to his existence. Marvin is survived by his children Marcus (Chiquida) Brinson and Janelle Brinson, as well as his brother James Brinson and sister Katherine Brown. He was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to one great-grandchild. A circle of other relatives and dear friends also carry forward his memory.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tessie Brinson, and his son, Jamie Brinson. Their memories remain deeply woven into the fabric of his family’s hearts.
The community will have an opportunity to pay their respects during a viewing held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314-A Laney Walker Blvd Ext., Augusta, GA. Following this, a graveside service will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at Walker Memorial Park at 620 Laney Walker Blvd, Augusta, GA, concluding at 12:00 PM.
Marvin Eugene Brinson’s life was one of service, love, and steadfastness. He will be remembered with honor and affection by all who had the privilege to know him. His contributions, both personal and professional, have left an indelible mark that will endure for generations. The Brinson family extends their gratitude for the outpouring of support during this difficult time, cherishing the memories of a man truly beloved.
