Mary Lou Rhaney was born on July 5, 1948, in Augusta, Georgia, to Eddie Stone and Mary Steed. She was the fourth of six children, growing up in a close-knit family where her radiant smile and joyful laugh became her signature. Known for her kindness and generosity, Mary devoted herself to caring for others, a quality that shone even more brightly in her role as a mother.
On February 2, 1968 Mary married Willie James "Buck" Rhaney, and together they were blessed with their beloved son, Madero James Rhaney, who was truly the joy of her life.
She received her education in the Richmond County School System and proudly graduated in 1966 from T. W. Josey High School. Mary went on to dedicate many years of service to the Radiology Department at the Medical College of Georgia, where she retired with honor and respect from her colleagues.
A woman of profound faith, Mary was a dedicated and cherished member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her life beautifully reflected her devotion to God, her deep love for family, and her steadfast commitment to serving others with kindness and humility.
