Mildred Fitzpatrick

Mrs. Mildred Simmons Fitzpatrick was born on April 7, 1954, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late Henry Simmons and Mildred Simmons Brabham. She was called to eternal rest on September 16, 2026. She was a mother, sister, and a friend. She was not a stranger to anyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Johnnie “Earvin” Simmons; and siblings, Vannie Brabham, Bernard Simmons, Joanne Blackman, Elizabeth Lowery, and Joyce Simmons.

Mildred was educated in the Richmond County Public School System, having attended Lucy C. Laney High School. She worked at Fort Gordon’s Dining Facility for over twenty-five years as a Supervisor/Lead Cook. She also worked at Walton Rehabilitation Hospital for over eighteen years as a Lead Cook.

She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Tony Fitzpatrick; two daughters, LaToya Bussey and Mary McKine; four sisters, Betty Reynolds, Henrietta (Allen) Bland, Dianne Boatright, and Felicia Simmons, all of Augusta, Georgia; nine grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
