Robbie Hobbs

1941 — 2026

Augusta, Georgia

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:1,8

One of God’s precious children, Robbie Edwards Hobbs was born July 23,1941. She surrendered to the call of God humbly and peacefully on January 28, 2026.

Mrs. Hobbs was the 5th of eight children to the late Mr. John Edwards and Saddie Williams. Robbie excepted Christ at an early age and attended Water Branch Baptist Church, where she was baptized. She attended Columbia County Schools and later moved to New York where she resided for 12 years.

In 1962, Robbie was united in marriage to John Richard Hobbs Sr., and to this union John Richard Hobbs Jr. was born. Later Robbie and Daniel Riley welcomed Christopher Hobbs into their lives. She loved her children and grandchildren and devoted her life to always being there for them. She enjoyed cooking for them and being in their presents. She enjoyed music and dancing, reading books, and spending time with her family. She always had a smile for everyone and would welcome anyone with open arms. Later in life she devoted herself to caring for her brother Chester and son Christopher. She put her life on hold to do everything she could to make sure they were cared for. Robbie was humble, loving and easy-going.

She was employed as a nurse’s aide for many years. She incurred an injury while working that resulted in her having to leave the job she enjoyed doing.

Robbie is preceded in death by: Mr. James “JC” Willams, Mr. William Leon “Eddie” Edwards, Mr. Chester “Chec” Williams, Ms. Mary Kyzer, Mr. John “Jr” David Edwards, and Ms. Earnestine “Tina” Blackmon, and granddaughter Krisha S. Hobbs
