Sarah Ann Bussey, age 99, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. She was born on April 9, 1926, and lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was deeply cherished by her family, her friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warm spirit, kind heart, and welcoming presence touched everyone she encountered and left a legacy across generations.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Edward Bussey Sr.; her son, Willie Edward Bussey Jr.; her daughter, Ann Beard; and her grandson, Dennis James Murray Jr. (Pete).
She leaves to cherish her loving memory of her three daughters, Lula Mae Whigham, Sherry Lee Bussey, and Rosemarie Reeves; and one son, Johnny Bussey. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor and carry forward her legacy.
The family would like to extend special recognition to her devoted grandchildren, Robert (Derrick) Whigham and Nefateria Ellington, whose care, support, and coordination of funeral arrangements reflect the deep love and respect they held for their grandmother.
Sarah’s life was a testament to love, strength, and dedication to family. She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her resilience, and the joy she brought to those around her.
