Suezetta Allen Ward

Nov 1, 1948 — Jul 8, 2026

Augusta, Georgia

Suezetta Allen Ward was born November 1,1948 to William "Handy" Allen and Louise Brown Allen. She was the 5th of 7 children born from that union. She grew up in Augusta, GA and was a member of Park Baptist Church (Beech Island, SC). She graduated high school from Lucy C. Laney. During her senior year she completed the Upwards Bound program at Paine College and upon graduation she received her certificate from OIC trade school as a Medical Receptionist.

After graduation and while attending school, Suezetta had two children Keith Morcelle (l 968) and Ustacyia Mechelle(l 969). Shortly after giving birth, Suezetta was set up on a blind date to attend the Laney v. Josey homecoming game with her best friend's cousin Mose Ward. It was love at first sight. Unbeknown to them, their union was orchestrated by God and foretold in a dream Suezetta had of a faceless man in a uniform she would marry. After less than a month of knowing each other, Mose and Suezetta married on October 11, 1969. Their union was blessed with 3 more children, Porsha Leslie, DeLonna Aurae, and Lekeysha LeVonne.

During her lifetime she has traveled to nearly all 50 states, became a published author, and befriended some celebrities. Though we grieve her absence, Suezetta lived a full and meaningful life filled with love and kindness and support.

She was preceded in death by her parents William "Handy" and Louise Allen, her siblings William "Bill" Allen Jr., Willie Frank Allen, Mary Allen, Lewis and Moselle Allen, Gracie Allen and Bobby Ward, her daughter Porsha Ward, and grandchildren, Dwayne Anthony Tillman II and Hannah Tillman, whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed her with open arms.

She is survived by her husband Mose Leslie Ward Jr., her brother James Curtis "Sip" Allen, sister-in-law Rodgers Allen, her children Keith (Anita) Morris, Ustacyia (Walter) Mcgee,DeLonna (Darcel) Brown, Lekeysha(Ellis) Jones, Fernando(Deanna) Peeples, 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Her spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter, and every act of love inspired by her example. We will forever carry her in our hearts.
