Trudy Dawson

Ms. Trudy Elizabeth Dawson Polen- Dawson was born on April 12th, 1941 in Louisville, GA to the parents of the late Eveline Blair and the late Joe Willie Dawson. On January 3rd, 2026, our beloved one went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Trudy moved to Augusta, GA in the early 1960’s to raise her three beautiful children Patricia, Shelia and Hilton Polen, whom she adored dearly. Trudy was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist church for 52 years. She also devoted years as an employee at the Medical College of Georgia and Savannah River Site until her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered her time at Gracewood Regional Hospital. She was a seamstress as well. She enjoyed hobbies such as bingo and playing solitaire. Trudy was preceded in death by her siblings Christine Dawson Pitts, Phillip Dawson, Billie Dawson and Danny Brigham.

Trudy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. Her spirit will forever live with us. She had the most sweetest, kindest heart and was adored tremendously. She will be missed dearly.

Left to cherish her lasting legacy: three loving children Patricia, Shelia and Hilton Polen. Six sisters Gwendolyn Blair, Cathlene Blair, Janice Blair, all of Avery, GA; a Laquisha Blair Burton of Wadley, GA, Minister Mary Ann (Jimmy Lee )Archie of Swainboro, GA; Prophetess Dianne (Curtis) Willis of Laurens County, GA; Three brothers; Pastor Willie James (Sabrina) Dawson of Wadley, GA; James Dawson of Swainsboro, GA; Mr. Leroy (Edwina) Blair of Vero Beach, Florida. Nine grandchildren, Rasheda Polen, Hilton Polen,III. Tiffany Weathers, Charles Savage, Lenita Weathers, Demonte Polen, WanDarius and WanDaisha Polen and Emmanuel Jackson. Seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
