With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Willie James Armstrong, affectionately known as "Nookie." Willie departed this life on July 8, 2026, at the age of 68, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for his family.

Born on October 21, 1957, in Augusta, Georgia, Willie was the beloved son of the late Gladys Hackney and the late Willie Lloyd Armstrong. He was known for his generous heart, gentle spirit, and the genuine love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Family meant everything to Willie. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing games, and watching YouTube on his phone. His smile, humor, and caring nature created lasting memories for all who knew him.

Willie dedicated 20 years of faithful service to the Board of Education as a Custodian. He took great pride in his work and touched countless lives through his dedication, dependability, and friendly spirit. He retired doing what he loved.

Willie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leola Armstrong.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, Shakyla Armstrong and Da'Shai M. Brown; his son, Micheal Luke Jr.; his granddaughters, Briana Armstrong and Amber Armstrong; his devoted sister, Margaret Brickhouse; his brother-in-law, Theotis Brickhouse; his brother, Michael Jackson; his aunt, Daisy Sutton; his niece, Wykisa Wilkes; his nephew, James Clark; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life well lived and the lasting impact he made on those around him. His love, humility, and quiet strength will forever remain in our hearts.
